Geotechnical Engineer Job Opportunity

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is collaborating with a well-established company in Co Down that specializes in geotechnical and ground-engineering solutions. They are seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for a permanent position.

About the Company

The company focuses on modern geotechnics and foundation engineering, emphasizing innovation and development to tackle challenges effectively. They have worked on projects involving bridges, harbours, and motorways, collaborating with major construction companies across the UK and Ireland.

Job Responsibilities
  • Office-based work, with occasional on-site work, predominantly focused on the specification, quoting, operation, management, interpretation, and reporting of geotechnical and contaminated land investigations.
  • Liaison with clients, regulators, and design engineers.
  • Manage a variety of geotechnical projects from inception to completion.
  • Manage financial budgets for projects.
  • Provide recommendations covering foundation design, ground improvements, earthworks, basements, retaining walls, mining, dissolution, and slope stability assessments.
  • Conversant with design software and geophysical surveys.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a ground investigation within the UK, with experience of soil/rock logging, fieldwork, and sitework supervision.
  • With a degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or relevant degree.
  • A self-starter, a team player with strong communication skills and a proactive character.
  • Must have a UK driving licence for travelling to sites within the UK.
