About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Building Surveyor to join our team in Newcastle. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supporting business unit directors in delivering business objectives
  2. Positively engaging with customers and developing, growing, and maintaining customer relationships
  3. Delivering high-quality services and ensuring that building surveying deliverables meet customer requirements
  4. Managing projects to deliver high-quality services and deliverables in accordance with business procedures
  5. Managing building surveying commissions, including surveys, dilapidation advice, party wall advice, and construction projects for new builds, renovations, and maintenance works – from feasibility through to design, contract administration to handover and post-completion reviews
  6. Quality monitoring of construction projects
  7. Planning service delivery in conjunction with the Director with overall responsibility for the project;
  8. Communicating with and providing good sound professional advice to both clients and other project team members
  9. Ensuring that all quantitative and financial information has been independently checked before issue, including maintaining evidence of independent checks
  10. Remaining in the remit of your role and when additional responsibilities need to be carried out, conduct this in a fully informed manner with the approval of your line manager
  11. Producing and presenting to customers
  12. Mentoring and coaching employees to their full potential
  13. Preparing bids for services
  14. Managing services delivery for profit
  15. Advising directors promptly of any issues that have arisen, or that might arise, on projects; in particular those that might impact on Gleeds professional indemnity (PI) insurance
  16. Identifying new business development opportunities and driving growth across the Business Unit activities

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Building Surveyor who possesses sound building surveying experience post MRICS qualification, with experience in delivering programmes of works and larger-scale projects. You should have a thorough knowledge of construction methods and materials, as well as a clear understanding of legislation impacting on building contracts.
