Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the BAE Systems Safety & Environmental Team, working on multiple programmes across the lifecycle of submarines. As a Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our personnel and equipment in high-hazard environments.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in safety engineering, with experience in HAZID/HAZOP analysis and safety case development. You will be part of a team that works closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to ensure that safety is integrated into all aspects of our work.

We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 per annum, plus benefits including a pension scheme, annual leave allowance, and share incentive plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting HAZID/HAZOP analysis to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Developing and maintaining safety cases for submarine design and operation
  • Liaising with stakeholders to ensure safety requirements are met
  • Collaborating with the design team to integrate safety into the design process

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant STEM discipline
  • Experience in safety engineering or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
