Vulnerable Youth Support Specialist

We are seeking a reliable and flexible individual to join our team as a Housing Worker at YMCA Doncaster.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of vulnerable young people. As a Housing Worker, you will be responsible for providing a steady and supportive presence in their lives, overseeing the daily activities and ensuring their well-being.
The work is varied and challenging, requiring flexibility and adaptability. You will be working alone, responsible for everything that happens during your shift, including regular patrols, record-keeping, and addressing any issues that may arise.
You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, conducting routine checks on hygiene and safety provisions, and supervising access to communal areas and equipment.
In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £22,500 per annum, a reliable income, and opportunities for career development and progression.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- To attend shifts reliably and on time, ensuring continuous cover.
- To carry out daily administrative tasks, including taking rent and answering telephone calls.
- To provide a visible security presence, patrolling premises as scheduled and dealing with issues arising.
- To ensure that buildings and entry points are secure.
Main Responsibilities:
As a Housing Worker, you will be responsible for the following key areas:
- Client Support: Providing support and guidance to clients, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
- Administrative Tasks: Carrying out daily administrative tasks, including taking rent and answering telephone calls.
- Safety and Security: Ensuring the safety and security of clients, staff, and premises.
- Maintenance and Repairs: Carrying out maintenance and repairs tasks, as required.
Requirements:
- A strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by vulnerable young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations.
