Electrical Design Engineer Opportunity

Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in aircraft landing and braking systems, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Test Services Team in the UK.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to implement and support electro-mechanical test systems. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical interface systems within the Test facility and providing electrical facility support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and support electro-mechanical test systems
  • Develop electrical interface systems within the Test facility
  • Provide electrical facility support
  • Work with initiative and demonstrate technical competence of electro-mechanical systems, data acquisition techniques, and willingness to broaden experience of qualification testing

Requirements:

  • Time served Apprenticeship, HNC/HND or BEng degree, plus relevant work experience
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety
  • Electrical circuit design and installation
  • PLC / HMI programming design and implementation
  • Motor control, electrical actuation and power generation equipment
  • Knowledge of control systems, data acquisition and instrumentation implementation would be advantageous but not essential
  • Knowledge of electrical calibration of transducers
  • Knowledge of testing techniques such as strength, fatigue and environmental would be advantageous
  • Proficient in MS IT packages such as Excel and Word and the compilation of technical reports
