Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our CAMHS team in Dunstable. As an Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
Main Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects, and system changes to support whole school and whole community approaches to young people's mental health.
- Work closely with schools and other external partners to address the most prominent needs of children and young people, implementing whole schools approaches and targeted interventions.
- Conduct mental health assessments and screenings of children and young people, and make assessments of risk to record and communicate appropriately.
- Deliver specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families, such as Guided Self Help, CBT, and parent work.
- Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1-year 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' or IAPT 'Child Wellbeing Practitioner' postgraduate diploma.
- Post-qualification experience as an EMHP and experience of working in schools.
- Ability to work within educational settings to increase mental health awareness among staff.
