Mental Health Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Dunstable. As an Educational Mental Health Practitioner, you will play a key role in delivering evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England.
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of a wider integrated schools pathway service in the localities, where the team are working to reduce health inequalities in communities where these are most prominent, working closely with the schools and other external partners addressing their most prominent needs, by implementing whole schools approaches and targeted interventions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver a wide range of interventions, projects, and system change with the aim of whole school and whole community approaches to supporting young people's mental health.
- Work closely with schools and other external partners to address the most prominent needs of the community.
- Conduct mental health assessments and screenings of children and young people, and make an assessment of risk and to record and communicate it appropriately.
- Deliver specific therapeutic interventions to children, young people, or their families, such as Guided Self Help, CBT, and parent work.
- Successful completion of the HEE commissioned 1yr 'Education Mental Health Practitioner' or IAPT 'Child Wellbeing Practitioner' postgraduate diploma.
- Post-qualification experience as an EMHP and experience of working in schools.
- Ability to carry out 1:1 therapeutic mental health interventions with children and families, and conduct group parenting and group young person programmes.
