Job Title: Product Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Inspector to join our team at New Appointments Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting fresh produce upon arrival, during production, and prior to dispatch.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a fresh produce environment, with a strong attention to detail and knowledge of health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards. They will also have the ability to understand and follow both written and verbal instructions, as well as basic understanding of stock control systems.

The role offers a competitive salary of £12.69 per hour for the first 40 hours, increasing to £15.86 per hour for hours worked beyond 40. Additionally, employees receive 28 days holiday, including bank holidays, a pension scheme, fortnightly pay, opportunities for learning and development, and a discretionary Christmas bonus.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Inspecting fresh produce upon arrival, during production, and prior to dispatch.
  • Performing necessary quality inspection tests and Brix testing, using appropriate equipment and accurately recording the results.
  • Verifying the accuracy of product labels in accordance with specifications.
  • Completing all necessary documentation in compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
  • Engaging in repetitive manual handling of products (up to 18kg).
  • Monitoring the performance of Production Operatives, offering training, support, and constructive feedback to enhance productivity.
