Saint Peters, Kent, United Kingdom Prospero Teaching Careers Full time
The Opportunity

Prospero Teaching Careers are partnering with Local Councils and SEND teams throughout the UK to provide educational support to individuals who are currently out of mainstream education, those seeking additional support, and individuals with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

We are seeking a Tutor with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent to provide KS1-KS4 Maths and English support on a 1:1 basis to students who are not currently accessing mainstream education.

The students have a diagnosis of ADHD and autism and require support with their core subjects, Maths and English, as they have been out of education for some time. The tutor will need to assess their current ability and reintroduce education into their routine whilst a suitable school provision is found. Lessons will take place either in a local Library or the young person's home.

Due to the nature of the students we provide support to, applicants must hold QTS and have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position Details:

  • Position: KS1-KS4 Tutor
  • Hours: 10-15 hours a week (during the school day)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Duration: ongoing

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils
  • UK classroom teaching experience
  • Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
