Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary PRU in South Manchester. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with children with Social Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and a proven track record of supporting pupils with challenging behaviour.

About the Role:
  • Work with children aged 4-11 with SEMH difficulties in a small class setting
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour, using Team Teach training and equivalent restraint training qualifications
  • Collaborate with a SEND teacher and other learning support staff to deliver tailored support
  • Participate in twilight training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge
About the Setting:

The PRU is a specialist setting for children with EHCPs, offering a supportive and inclusive environment. Our team is dedicated to providing high-quality education and care, with a focus on social and emotional well-being. We are proud of our 'good' Ofsted rating and the positive feedback from parents.

Requirements:
  • Team Teach training or equivalent restraint training qualification
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour, in mainstream or specialist settings
  • Child and adult DBS registered on the update service
