Binnies is seeking an experienced Environmental Team Leader to join our Bradford on Avon and Bristol offices.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, from nationally significant infrastructure projects to landscape-scale restoration. Our work includes flood, coastal, and maritime projects, as well as sectors such as ports, water utilities, transport, and renewable power.

One of our current projects is SESRO (South East Strategic Reservoir Option), a 150 million cubic metre reservoir near Abingdon. This project aims to create new habitats, increase biodiversity, and provide new leisure and recreation facilities.

We pride ourselves on being at the forefront of environmental best practice and innovation, including digital EIA. Our environmental professionals work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver smarter and more sustainable solutions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing all stages of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), including SEA and other environmental assessments and consents.
  • Providing technical direction and oversight of the regional Environmental Team.
  • Supporting business development and tenders.
  • Providing supervisor and mentor role to members of the environmental team.
  • Supporting recruitment.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An environmental related degree.
  • Chartered membership with a relevant institute.
  • A thorough understanding of EIA, sustainability, and consenting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills and previous management/supervisory experience.
  • Understanding of commercial drivers of consultancy and ability to manage and work to programme and budget.
  • Experience in client-facing roles and development of client relationships.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Previous consultancy experience.
