Job Description

At Riverside, we are seeking an experienced HSE Risk Specialist to join our team. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong risk management skills, excellent communication, and influencing abilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for championing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) risks across our organization, ensuring effective management of these risks to meet strategic and operational objectives. This includes identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to protect colleagues, customers, assets, and the natural environment.

You will work closely with senior leaders, Accountable Risk Leads (ARLs), and other stakeholders to develop and implement HSE strategies, plans, policies, procedures, guidance, KPIs, reports, records, and actions. Your expertise will help drive improvements in HSE performance, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and government regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion HSE risks across the organization, ensuring effective management of risks to meet strategic and operational objectives.
  • Develop and implement HSE strategies, plans, policies, procedures, guidance, KPIs, reports, records, and actions in collaboration with senior leaders and ARLs.
  • Provide expert advice and support to ARLs and other stakeholders on HSE matters, including risk assessments, investigations, and control measures.
  • Monitor and report on HSE performance, identifying areas for improvement and developing recommendations to address these.
  • Work closely with other teams, including MI and Data, Insurance, and Business Continuity, to ensure seamless delivery of HSE initiatives.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in HSE assurance within a large, dispersed organization.
  • A Level 5/6 HSE qualification.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting high-quality investigations and implementing control measures.
  • Proven experience influencing senior leaders to take ownership of HSE risks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
