Job Title: Lead IPC Practitioner - Epsom General Hospital

About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Lead IPC Practitioner to join our team at Epsom General Hospital. As a key member of our infection prevention and control department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of infection control across the hospital.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in infection prevention and control, with a strong background in policy development, implementation, and monitoring. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of infection control policies and procedures, as well as providing guidance and support to healthcare staff on infection control best practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a leadership role and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care while maintaining a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, implement, and monitor infection control policies and procedures.
  2. Provide guidance and support to healthcare staff on infection control best practices.
  3. Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement strategies to prevent infections.
  5. Monitor and analyze infection rates, identifying areas for improvement and implementing interventions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Degree in nursing or a related field.
  • Experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around £59,490 - £66,239 per annum, depending on experience.
