About the Role

The YMCA DownsLink Group is recruiting a Youth Accommodation Specialist to join our East Sussex Transitional Housing team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in providing safe, secure accommodation for young people aged 18-25 who have been, or are at risk of homelessness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and implementing individualized support plans to help residents achieve independent living
  • Conducting regular assessments to identify resident's needs and develop strategies to address these needs
  • Maintaining accurate records, including service user notes and progress reports
  • Liaising with other agencies and professionals to ensure residents receive comprehensive support
What We're Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong track record of working with young people at risk. To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • A relevant qualification in housing, support work, or a related field
  • Significant experience working with young people in a housing or support capacity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents and colleagues
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands
  • An understanding of safeguarding procedures and protocols, with the ability to maintain effective professional boundaries

The estimated salary for this role is £27,225 per annum pro rata, based on a 20-hour working week. This salary reflects the importance of this role in supporting vulnerable young people.
