Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored educational programs and activities.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, adapting teaching methods to meet their unique needs.
  • Implement and support therapeutic strategies and interventions as part of the trauma-informed approach.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes emotional and social development.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to monitor and track student progress.
  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources.
  • Support students with personal care and mobility needs, if required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience working with children or young people with autism and associated conditions.
  • Understanding of and commitment to a trauma-informed approach in education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (desirable but not essential).
