We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Prisons Services Clinical Pharmacist to join our friendly team at HMP Channing Woods. As part of the South West Prison Healthcare contract awarded to Oxleas NHS trust in 2022, we have expanded our recruitment opportunities.
The role involves working with people to build positive and productive lives, whatever their past. You will be acting as the GP Pharmacist for HMP Channing Wood, providing medicines optimisations services and supporting GP's and dispensary teams on site at the prison(s). You will work closely with patients to support them with any medicine queries and concerns, run medication review clinics, and provide your clinical expertise when required.
As a key member of the healthcare team, you will contribute to promoting health and well-being to those in prison. You will directly deliver Mental Health, Physical Health, Pharmacy, and Clinical Substance Misuse in an integrated healthcare delivery model to provide effective and responsive care. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting patients with their medicine queries and concerns.
- Undertaking medication review clinics.
- Stratifying risk with high-risk medicines and working to reduce such risk for patients.
- Developing and managing new services that are built around new medicines or NICE guidance.
- Providing leadership to ensure practice within healthcare is compliant with CQC standards where medicines are involved.
We offer competitive compensation, estimated at £60,000 - £80,000 per annum based on experience, plus additional benefits such as pension schemes and professional development opportunities.
