About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gastroenterology Specialist to join our team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality care to patients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering emergency cover and weekend working, as well as supporting undergraduate education by providing clinical teaching and supervision of medical students from Warwick and Buckingham Medical Schools.

Main Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing gastroscopy services including therapeutic endoscopy, small bowel imaging, and bowel cancer screening
  • Contributing to the development of the clinical service through research and innovation
  • Supporting the education and training of junior doctors and medical students
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in gastroenterology, with experience in gastrointestinal endoscopy
  • An expressed interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education
  • A MRCP or equivalent qualification
  • Entry onto the specialist register in gastroenterology and general medicine
