Job Summary



We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced pharmacist to lead our medicines management team. As Lead Pharmacist for Medicines Management, you will be responsible for overseeing medical specialties, including cardiology, respiratory, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and frailty.



The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary clinical team to help achieve national, trust-wide and pharmacy digital strategies within these specialist areas. You will need to have excellent communication, organisation and time management skills to effectively manage junior pharmacy team members.



Main Responsibilities


  • Lead pharmacy for medicine specialties, including respiratory, cardiology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, frailty, dermatology and rheumatology
  • Work with the lead pharmacist for medicine to lead, develop and support and deliver a high level of pharmaceutical service to all specialities in medicine
  • Manage junior pharmacy team members and ensure they have the necessary training and support to excel in their roles
  • Plan and implement change to improve the delivery of pharmaceutical services


Requirements


  • Master's degree in pharmacy (or equivalent)
  • Completion of a one-year preregistration programme
  • Current UK professional registration as a Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy diploma or equivalent advanced experience
  • Specialist qualification or accreditation, or equivalent advanced practice, gained or in progress in a relevant clinical specialty

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good understanding of recent NHS and pharmacy reports and how they relate to Infection Prevention and Control, and the use of Antimicrobials.
