Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to develop and implement tailored learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Use positive behavior management techniques to de-escalate challenging situations and create a safe and nurturing environment for all students.
  • Foster strong relationships with students, encouraging their emotional and social development, and promoting a sense of belonging and inclusion.
  • Work closely with the teaching team to ensure seamless support for students, both in and out of the classroom.
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Health and Social Care, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs, preferably in an SEMH or special school setting.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with vulnerable students, with a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting their welfare.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and provide consistent, nurturing support.
