Deputy Home Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Deputy Home Manager to join our team at CareTech Group. As a key member of our Children's Residential Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our young people.
Main Responsibilities:- Assist the Registered Manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose.
- Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
- Support and manage the staff team to enable them to meet the needs of the children and young people.
- Undertake direct work with children and young people as appropriate.
- Manage child protection concerns and complaints.
- Work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
- Offer supervision and support to senior staff in line with National Minimum Standards.
- Secondary Education with good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- NVQ 3 in caring for Children and Young People (or equivalent).
- Working towards NVQ 4.
- Management qualification.
- Current driving license.
- NVQ 4 Knowledge & Skills.
- Knowledge of National Minimum Standards.
- Awareness of Equal Opportunities/ADP issues.
- Knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation.
- Team Building Skills.
- Supervision Skills.
- Ability to manage teams effectively.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Understanding the needs of BESD children including managing challenging behaviour.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to motivate and enthuse staff.
- Counselling Skills.
- Training Skills.
- Drugs Awareness Training Experience.
- 1 year's relevant supervisory experience.
- 12 months experience of working in a residential setting with young people with challenging behaviour.
- Experience of acting as an appropriate adult (PACE).
- A basic salary of £14.22 per hour plus £30 per sleep in across 2-3 shifts per week.
- Rota is always given 4 weeks in advance.
