Learning Support Specialist

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support our educators in fostering a positive learning environment for students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, particularly those with autism.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons and activities tailored to the needs of individual students.
- Provide one-on-one support to students, particularly those with autism or special educational needs, ensuring they are included in all classroom activities.
- Help create a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
- Monitor student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to teachers on individual performance.
- Facilitate small group tutoring sessions to reinforce learning objectives.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote a collaborative approach to education.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills related to mentoring and educating children.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with children, particularly those with autism or special educational needs, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with students and staff.
- Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles is an advantage.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting the diverse needs of students.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
- Relevant qualifications in education or child development are beneficial but not essential.
Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
