We are excited to announce an opening for a Head Children's House Educator at our esteemed Guidepost Montessori School.

This role provides a unique opportunity to inspire and nurture children aged 3 to 6 years, fostering their independence, self-esteem, and passion for learning.

Salary Range: $37,000 - $43,000

Your Responsibilities

We seek a passionate and committed Head Educator to lead a diverse classroom of preschool-aged children within a Montessori framework.

In a Montessori setting, educators meticulously create an environment that encourages autonomy and engages a child's curiosity. They offer tailored support to each child, working individually and in small groups, guiding them in using materials and engaging in activities while providing precise language to help them articulate their experiences.

Thanks to the thoughtfully arranged environment and personalized assistance, children in a Montessori classroom enjoy significant freedom to explore and engage with materials of their choosing for extended periods. Most importantly, this support and these resources empower every child to cultivate skills, confidence, and a strong belief in their capabilities.

We are looking for a Head Educator who is dedicated to helping every child achieve their fullest potential.

Key Responsibilities of Head Educators:

  • Closely observe each child to understand and address their physical, intellectual, and emotional needs.
  • Create a beautiful and organized environment that promotes focus, independence, and profound learning.
  • Encourage self-sufficiency and confidence by guiding children to 'do it all by themselves.'
  • Deliver individualized and small-group lessons to enhance each child's development in practical skills, literacy, mathematics, and more.
  • Build personal relationships with each child and foster a respectful community.
  • Engage and collaborate with parents to provide optimal support for every child.

The Montessori Prepared Environment

Each classroom at Guidepost is equipped with a comprehensive selection of high-quality Montessori materials tailored for the Children's House curriculum, along with a budget for educators to customize their space. Classrooms are designed according to Montessori principles of beauty and order, enabling every child to learn, concentrate, and confidently achieve independence.

  • Child-sized furniture and ample space for independent or small group work.
  • Practical life materials for children to engage in activities such as sweeping, setting the table, and meal preparation.
  • A curriculum that promotes independence in self-care tasks.
  • Scientifically designed, hands-on learning materials for foundational knowledge in mathematics, literacy, science, and more.
  • All materials are accessible to children on low shelves, with art positioned at their level.
  • Cozy reading nooks, real plants, and abundant natural light.
  • Breakable items made from natural materials like wood, metal, and glass, rather than plastic.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Interest in pursuing certified Montessori training through our Prepared Montessorian Institute (fully sponsored) or possession of a Montessori diploma for ages 3-6.
  • Experience working with children aged 3-6 in group settings such as daycare, aftercare, or preschool.
  • Familiarity with child-centered philosophies like Reggio Emilia or Montessori, or a willingness to learn more.
