About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and friendly Receptionist to join our team at Woodlands Medical Practice. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and deal with all patients and visitors in a polite and courteous manner, ensuring a smooth flow of patients through the surgery.
- Make appointments for Doctors, Nurses, and other health professionals, using the EMIS system to ensure accurate and efficient scheduling.
- Answer incoming telephone calls in a professional and friendly manner, taking accurate messages and passing them on to relevant staff members.
- Take calls for the triage service, following established protocols.
- Process patient correspondence, scanning and filing documents as necessary.
- Monitor waiting areas to ensure patients are sent to their appointments in a timely manner, and inform patients of any delays or issues.
- Process new patient registrations, including GMS1 forms and other necessary documentation.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication and customer service skills, as well as basic IT skills. Experience working in a GP practice is desirable, but not essential.
