Medicines Management and Optimisation Role

NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Data Services Officer to join the Medicines Management and Optimisation (MMO) Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the MMO strategy, working closely with healthcare professionals and stakeholders to improve patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The Data Services Officer will be responsible for planning and implementing medicines management service priorities, promoting high-quality information management processes, and evaluating prescribing and clinical data services. They will also develop and maintain key relationships within the MMO team and with a wide range of healthcare teams and ICB colleagues.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Experience in evaluating and measuring the performance of information software and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of information analysis and presentation using Microsoft Office and SharePoint software options.
  • Ability to analyse complex facts, data, and situations and develop a range of options.
  • Previous experience in a similar role in the public sector.
  • Knowledge of healthcare clinical information systems used within Primary Care.
  • Experience of Project Management and delivery within the NHS/Pharmacy area.
Working Arrangements

The MMO team has core operational hours between 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. The ICB promotes flexible and agile working as a commitment to equality and making staff feel valued.

Person Specification
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience in a specialist area.
  • Further postgraduate training or significant relevant experience in project management, change management processes, or large-scale informatics systems.
