Medicines Management and Optimisation - Data Services Officer

NHS Birmingham and Solihull Integrated Care Board is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Data Services Officer to join the Medicines Management and Optimisation (MMO) Team. The post holder will be working to support the implementation of the MMO strategy, promoting high-quality information management processes, prescribing, and clinical data services evaluation, and innovative integration with stakeholders and service users.

Main Duties of the Job

The Medicines Management and Optimisation Team is a large, dynamic, and innovative team, providing expertise for GPs and primary care clinicians as well as other healthcare partners across the region. As a Data Services Officer, you will be joining an innovative team helping to implement the ICS' strategy of improving care for people living in the Birmingham and Solihull footprint. Your responsibilities will include planning and implementing medicines management service priorities, promoting high-quality information management processes, prescribing, and clinical data services evaluation, and innovative integration with stakeholders and service users.

Job Responsibilities

The post holder will combine information management and technical skills to support the delivery of a patient-centred medicines optimisation agenda alongside integration with other services:

  • Support and inform the targeting of resources, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation of the tasks/projects by providing high-quality support including complex information and analysis, communications, and stakeholder management.
  • Promote the utilisation of Microsoft Power Platform software and related options to enhance integration and utilisation of prescribing data across ICB workstreams, to contribute towards data and evidence-driven decisions that aim to improve patient care at the core.
  • Ensure accurate and open communication and co-ordination with a range of organisations and individuals, researching and drafting correspondence and papers and ensuring the management of specific tasks, lead reporting, and analysis across a range of specialties, functions, and projects.
  • Be a key member of the team as well as supporting effective communication and stakeholder management, both internally and externally.
Person Specification
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent level of experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
  • Further postgraduate training or significant relevant experience in project management, change management processes, or large-scale informatics systems.
