Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to join our Executive Team at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of the Board of Directors, you will play a crucial role in shaping the Trust's strategic direction and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Trust's medical workforce, providing leadership to the Board of Directors on medical issues, and ensuring the delivery of performance against objectives. You will also be responsible for creating effective working relationships with NHSE medical leaders and playing a lead role in the ICB clinical leadership.

Additionally, you will act as the responsible officer in relation to the General Medical Council revalidation requirements, work with the Chief Nursing Officer to co-lead for quality and governance, and be the Trust's Caldicott Guardian. You will also be responsible for ensuring the Patient Safety Agenda is fit for purpose and delivers on its objectives.

Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree or equivalent level postgraduate qualification, appropriate professional qualification, and current registration with the GMC. You will also have experience in an Associate Director or Deputy Director role, a track record of success in a complex healthcare organisation, and evidence of leading and participating in corporate decision making.

You will be a strong leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships with colleagues, patients, and stakeholders. You will also have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
