Job Title: Synthesising research on governance systems that work

We are seeking a researcher to synthesise existing research on governance systems that work. The successful candidate will have expertise in research synthesis and a strong understanding of governance systems.

Job Description:

The researcher will be responsible for synthesising existing research on governance systems that work. This will involve critically assessing the state of knowledge on the topic, identifying knowledge strengths and gaps, and acknowledging Indigenous knowledge systems and research methodologies when appropriate.

The researcher will also be responsible for assessing the quality, accuracy, and rigour of current work in the field, identifying strengths and gaps in the quantitative and qualitative data available, and engaging cross-sectoral stakeholders throughout the project to mobilise knowledge related to promising policies and practices.

The researcher will work with a multidisciplinary team to produce a synthesis report and evidence brief within eight months of receiving the grant. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a virtual kick-off webinar and a virtual knowledge mobilisation forum to share research findings with community practitioners and knowledge users in various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Critically assess the state of knowledge on governance systems that work
  • Identify knowledge strengths and gaps in the field
  • Assess the quality, accuracy, and rigour of current work in the field
  • Engage cross-sectoral stakeholders throughout the project
  • Produce a synthesis report and evidence brief within eight months
