We are a leading provider of bespoke engineering solutions for critical systems, including life-support systems, oxygen and carbon capture-based solutions, water purification, rugged electronics for harsh environments, and precision engineering of high-integrity equipment.

The Role

This Test and Validation Engineer position sits within our bespoke engineering solutions side of the business, where we develop and deliver complex process equipment to the highest quality standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set-up, configure, and test complex process equipment to ensure compliance with customer standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  • Electrical testing of low- and high-voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing, using oscilloscopes to capture analogue and digital signals.
  • Fault finding, diagnosis, and problem-solving of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Develop and improve test methodologies, including prototyping, to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Maintain an issues log for lessons learned and to support continuous improvement.
  • Travel to various sites across the country to support the UK Nuclear Program (CASD) and occasionally abroad to support overseas customers.
  • Adhere to 5S practices and comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

About You

  • Hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
  • Previous test and commissioning experience in a highly regulated industry, such as process engineering, is preferred.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as process engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Good hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and ability to work well under own initiative.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, sometimes with short notice.

Security Clearance

To be considered for this role, you must meet the requirements to pass a BPSS check and undergo a security clearance (SC) check. You must have an existing right to live and work in the UK and normally need at least 5 years' UK residency to gain SC clearance.
