About CMS2 - Critical Maritime Systems & Support

We are a leading provider of bespoke engineering solutions for critical systems, including life-support systems, oxygen and carbon capture-based solutions, water purification, rugged electronics for harsh environments, and precision engineering of high-integrity equipment.

The Role

This Test and Validation Engineer position sits within our bespoke engineering solutions side of the business, where we develop and deliver complex process equipment to meet the highest quality and regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set up, configure, and test complex process equipment to ensure compliance with company procedures, customer standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform pneumatic and hydraulic pressure testing of high- and low-pressure vessels under PED compliance.
  • Conduct electrical testing, including low and high voltage circuits, insulation resistance, and earth bond testing, using oscilloscopes to capture analogue and digital signals.
  • Fault find, diagnose, and solve electro-mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and improve test methodologies, including prototyping, to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain an issues log to track lessons learned and support continuous improvement.
  • Travel to various sites across the country to support the UK Nuclear Program and occasionally abroad to support overseas customers.
  • Adhere to 5S practices and comply with ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

About You

  • Hold an NVQ/HNC or higher qualification in engineering or an apprenticeship in a relevant engineering field.
  • Have previous test and commissioning experience in a highly regulated industry, preferably in process engineering.
  • Be committed to health and safety, environment, and quality.
  • Be able to read and interpret documents such as process engineering drawings, specifications, and procedures.
  • Have good hands-on electrical and mechanical skills.
  • Be able to work efficiently as part of a team and under pressure in a challenging environment.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be flexible, enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to work well under own initiative.
  • Be willing to travel occasionally, sometimes with short notice.
