Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Maintenance Person to join our facilities team in Huddersfield. This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb ladders, and work in various environments both indoors and outdoors.

About the Role

This is a crucial position within our organization, responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities across multiple locations. As a Senior Maintenance Person, you will be the first point of contact for maintenance-related issues and will be responsible for carrying out scheduled inspections, preventative maintenance, general repairs, safety inspections, and emergency repairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out scheduled inspections on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and other infrastructure systems.
  • Document tasks with photos and maintain records to ensure equipment efficiency.
  • Assist in planning routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and plumbing issues.
  • Maintain building exteriors through tasks like painting and minor structural repairs.
  • Conduct safety inspections, identify hazards, and implement corrective actions.
  • Keep accurate records of safety measures and inspections.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies, including power outages, plumbing issues, and HVAC malfunctions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience in building maintenance or a related field.
  • An excellent working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems along with basic carpentry, welding, and painting.
  • Experience with job ticketing systems like Jira is a plus.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt quickly.
  • A strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
