About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer to join a well-established business with a strong reputation for fostering a collaborative and supportive culture within the legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic legal advice to the business on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, risk management, and compliance.
  • Oversee and advise on the business's internal approvals process, ensuring seamless execution and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, leveraging expertise in corporate and commercial law.
  • Manage and oversee litigation, arbitration, and dispute resolution as necessary, ensuring effective resolution and minimizing risk.
  • Oversee the renewal of property and corporate insurance programs, ensuring optimal coverage and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strong corporate governance practices and procedures, promoting a culture of compliance and excellence.
  • Draft policies and procedures for various business areas, ensuring clarity and effectiveness.
  • Implement training programs across the business, enhancing knowledge and skills.
  • Advise on applicable UK laws and regulations, ensuring compliance and staying up-to-date with EU and UK laws and their application to the business.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders, including shareholders, investors, business partners, and external counsel, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of post-qualification legal experience, ideally with a mix of private practice and in-house experience.
  • Corporate and commercial legal background, with the ability to adapt to various areas of law.
  • Real estate legal experience is not required but is a plus.
  • Proven ability to negotiate high-value, complex contracts and agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage junior staff, external counsel, and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate advice effectively to the business.
