About the Job

Barchester Healthcare is seeking a Senior Nurse Practitioner to fill the role of Peripatetic Deputy General Manager (Clinical). As a travel-based position, you'll work across various care homes in your region, leading teams and implementing action plans to deliver high-quality care and service.

You'll take on leadership duties when needed, overseeing everything from care standards to team motivation. Your primary goal is to empower multidisciplinary teams to provide the best possible quality of life for our residents. To achieve this, you'll lead by example, monitoring standards through regular audits, supervised clinical practice, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading teams and implementing action plans across various care homes
  • Developing and managing staff to deliver high-quality care and service
  • Taking on leadership duties when needed, overseeing care standards and team motivation

Requirements

  • A Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with current NMC registration
  • A teaching, mentoring, or supervision qualification
  • Previous experience working within a nursing home setting
  • Evidence of continual professional development
  • Experience in helping residents with different health needs
  • A successful track record of managing safeguarding investigations and clinical risk assessments
  • Some HR experience, a strong knowledge of sales and marketing, and an understanding of budget management
  • A track record of supporting newly qualified nurses through preceptorship
