Role Overview

A reputable regional accountancy practice in Leicester seeks a skilled Bookkeeper to drive growth in their client portfolio. This opportunity offers a wide range of industries, varying levels of turnover, and exposure to various accounting tasks.

The successful candidate will manage their own portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate invoicing, payment processing, and statutory accounts completion. Responsibilities include:

  • Performing day-to-day bookkeeping for clients from diverse transactional streams
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end procedures, including banking and VAT submissions
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC guidelines
Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience within an accountancy practice or industry
  • Confidence in managing sales ledgers, purchase ledgers, bank reconciliations, and VAT
  • Practical knowledge of accounting systems like QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage
  • The ability to prioritize tasks, organize workload, and meet regular deadlines
