Occupational Therapist Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Virtual Ward Early Supported Discharge (ESD) team at Swansea Bay University Health Board. As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in providing specialist assessment, goal-directed intervention, and rehabilitation to patients in the community setting.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage a defined caseload within the specialist area, using evidence-based and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of intervention.
- Organize caseload efficiently and effectively, prioritizing clinical needs and utilizing time effectively.
- Ensure clinical records are maintained to agreed standards and report accurately to others.
- Work in partnership with clients, carers, and stakeholders to identify relevant goals.
- Provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor/team leader.
- Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
- Participate in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Band 6 Development Programme and other developmental activities.

Person Specification
- Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent OT qualification)
- Professional Registration with HCPC
- Relevant postgraduate level training or experience
- Accredited fieldwork supervisor for the education of OT students (desirable)
