Job Summary
Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join its Virtual Ward Early Supported Discharge team. As a Static Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist assessment, goal-directed intervention, and rehabilitation to patients in the community setting.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a well-established community multidisciplinary team, utilizing evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of intervention. You will be required to work closely with MDT colleagues and contribute to the development of a high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy service.
Key responsibilities include managing a defined caseload, organizing clinical priorities, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a sound clinical knowledge base. As a Static Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will have opportunities to develop your leadership, management, and clinical skills, making this a unique and rewarding role.
Main Duties
- Manage a defined caseload within the specialist area, utilizing evidence-based principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the outcomes of intervention.
- Organize clinical priorities and maintain accurate records.
- Work in partnership with clients, carers, and stakeholders to identify relevant goals.
- Provide leadership and supervision for junior staff, as delegated by supervisor/team leader.
- Regularly supervise Occupational Therapy students on practice placements.
- Participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in the Band 6 Development Programme and other developmental activities.
