Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Welding and Engineering Equipment Specialist to join our team at Speedy Hire. As a key member of our depot team, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of our welding and engineering equipment, ensuring that all work is safe and compliant with our safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test, service, and maintain welding and engineering equipment, including diesel, petrol, Tig, and Mig welders, welding fume extractors, electrical pipe threaders, handheld pipe threaders, pipe jointing tools, and crimping tools.
  • Work directly with other engineers in the depot and liaise regularly with drivers and the hire desk team to ensure repairs and maintenance of plant equipment are prioritized effectively.
  • Proven ability to test and repair welding equipment and engineering equipment to the highest standard, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar.
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Technical/engineering background is desirable.
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
