Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Plant and Welding Equipment Specialist to join our team at Speedy Hire. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for the inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of plant hire and welding equipment in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test, service, and maintain welding and engineering equipment, including diesel, petrol, Tig, and Mig welders, welding fume extractors, electrical pipe threaders, handheld pipe threaders, pipe jointing tools, and crimping tools.
  • Work closely with other engineers in the depot and liaise regularly with drivers and the hire desk team to ensure repairs and maintenance of plant equipment are prioritized effectively.
  • Proven ability to test and repair plant and welding equipment to the highest standard, ideally gained within the hire industry or similar.
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • Technical/engineering background is desirable.
  • Electrical knowledge is desirable.
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
  • Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver our ESG Strategy.
