Job Description

As a Development Engineer, you'll be working with the latest technologies and groundbreaking, sustainable innovations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and deliver technology projects, either individually or as part of a team, under the direction of a manager.
  • Develop and maintain reports and supporting documentation highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, and limitations of proposed technologies.
  • Design and develop engineering models, sketches, and drawings.
  • Identify and suggest improved experimental methods, equipment, software, and investigation techniques to enhance data quality and efficiency.
  • Develop project plans with estimated timescales and costs for further technology investigations and/or producing technical demonstrators.
  • Conduct technology risk assessments, backed by documented analysis and test results, upon completion of work packages.
  • Pursue and propose new innovative technologies to integrate into the project pipeline.
Requirements
  • Degree, Master's, or Doctorate in a relevant Engineering/Science discipline or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in industry or research related to product creation and development.
  • Strong understanding of engineering theory and practice.
  • Ability to research and draw parallels between different areas of engineering/technology to inform project decisions.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team to maximize performance.
  • Ability to plan and deliver projects to agreed metrics, ensuring all aspects of design, development, and research are understood and design rules/parameters are defined and documented.
  • Proficient in standard office software tools and accurate in all engineering outcomes.
  • Travel may be required (up to 20% anticipated).
  • Basic or higher knowledge of CAD and FEA/CFD simulation software is beneficial.
