Position: Java Software Engineer

Location: Burgess Hill, UK

Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in hands-on software engineering, ensuring high-quality code and comprehensive unit testing.
  • Interpret business requirements effectively and contribute to both application development and ongoing support.
  • Continuously refactor code, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to maintain technical excellence within the application.
  • Write maintainable code that is easily testable and compatible across various web platforms and browsers.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in developing enterprise-level server-side applications using Java as the primary programming language.
  • Strong proficiency in Java, data structures, algorithms, web services, REST APIs, JSON, and XML.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring MVC and Spring Boot, as well as messaging systems like Kafka and Solace.
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools, with the ability to write unit tests and provide operational support for applications as necessary.
  • Knowledge of RDBMS concepts and experience with databases like Oracle and DB2, alongside NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, and Couchbase.
  • Experience with various mocking frameworks, test-driven development, and performance testing tools like JMeter and Postman.
