Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring Smooth Operations: Monitor and manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard, coordinating with transport and warehouse control staff to ensure efficient loading and unloading of trailers.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Conduct daily checks, report defects or damage, and complete associated documentation to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Trailer Checks: Perform trailer checks on loaded trailers, reporting any issues to operations staff and completing trailer checklists.
  • Shunting Duties: Carry out shunting duties, including relevant maintenance and safety checks, to ensure timely movement of trailers.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Attention to detail, ability to work without direct supervision, adaptable approach to work and training, conscientious and reliable, excellent communication skills, able to work efficiently under pressure, effectively prioritize workload, and possess knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers' hours.
  • Skillset: Strong organizational and time management skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work as part of a team or individually, and proficiency in handling equipment and machinery.
