We are recruiting for a Nights Yard Shunter to join our CML site in Telford on a full time, permanent basis.

**Shift Pattern**:
4ON 4OFF night shift - 18:00pm-06:00am

**Salary**:
**Up to £33,294 per annum - Dependent on experience.**
- Cat B Licence - £28,986 per annum + £75 pm attendance bonus. OT paid at X1.5
- Cat C Licence - £31,130 per annum + £75 pm attendance bonus. OT paid at X1.5
- Cat C+E Licence - £33,294 pr annum + £75 pm attendance bonus. OT paid at X1.5

**Job Description**:
*Cat B or Cat C to Cat C+E opportunity*
- Observing and adhering to company rules, site procedures and all aspects of Health & Safety and Hygiene at all times
- Effectively managing own working time in line with the Road Transport Directive
- Liaising with colleagues and ensuring completion of shift report
- Conducting daily checks, immediately reporting any defects and / or damage and completing associated documentation
- Carrying out trailer checks on loaded trailers and report to ops staff
- Completing trailer checklist and reporting to operations desk
- Carrying out shunting duties including relevant maintenance and safety checks
- Liaising with the warehouse control and goods in staff to ensure smooth and efficient loading / unloading of trailers
- Completing vehicles downloads as per the company policy
- Monitoring services / MOTs - liaising with Transport Office and with service vendor
- Assisting with fuel delivery / manual dip of fuel
- Keeping yard in clean / tidy condition
- Liaising with Transport Office as and when required i.e. special promotions and / or livery schedules
- Manage the flow of traffic in and out of the yard

**Qualifications**:

- Must hold currently hold a Cat B, C or C+E licence
- Attention to detail / accurate
- Ability to work without direct supervision
- Adaptable and methodical approach to work / training
- Conscientious and reliable
- Excellent communication skills in order to deliver accurate information
- Able to work efficiently and accurately under pressure
- Effectively prioritise workload in order to meet set deadlines
- Able to work as part of a team or individually
- Able to work effectively and communicate to the correct level
- Have knowledge of Road Transport Directive and current drivers’ hours
- Be professional, approachable and helpful to ensure smooth running of the general operation
- Maintaining a high standard of behaviour and appearance
- Attending company training when required
