About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Portfolio Manager to join our team at Aviva. As a key member of our Transformation function, you will play a critical role in overseeing and assuring the delivery of our UKGI portfolio of change, which typically totals over £100m annually.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic oversight and assurance of the UKGI portfolio of change, ensuring that it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Lead a team of Programme Managers and PMO professionals, ensuring that they have the necessary skills, resources, and support to deliver their programmes successfully.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Transformation Director and other key leaders within the organisation.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, and ensure that the portfolio is aligned with the organisation's overall strategy and objectives.
  • Drive the continued embedment of PPM tooling into the area, ensuring that we get the required value and efficiency from the tool.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior portfolio management role, with a strong track record of delivering large-scale change programmes.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of Programme Managers and PMO professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and other key leaders within the organisation.
  • Knowledge of change delivery methodologies and frameworks, including Planview or similar PPM tool knowledge.

  • A competitive salary between £60,000 and £80,000, depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications.
