Job Responsibilities
The Principal Clinical Psychologist/Psychological Therapist will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in providing high-quality clinical services to adults with complex mental health presentations. Key responsibilities include:
  1. Providing clinical leadership, direct and indirect clinical interventions, and overseeing the provision of NICE recommended psychological interventions within the team.
    Consulting with multidisciplinary teams to assess and formulate comprehensive treatment plans for service users.
    Delivering high-quality psychological assessments, interventions, and therapies to individuals and groups, including those with complex and severe mental health needs.
    Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement evidence-based interventions, and contributing to the evaluation of their effectiveness.
    Providing supervision and guidance to junior staff members, and supporting their professional development through mentoring and coaching.
    Maintaining accurate records and reporting on service user outcomes, and participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
    Engaging in continuous professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in clinical psychology and related fields.
    Contributing to the development of service policies, procedures, and guidelines, and participating in decision-making processes to shape the future of our organization.


To be successful in this role, you will require:
  1. A doctoral degree in clinical psychology or a related field from an accredited institution.
    Substantial post-qualification experience in specialist psychological assessment, formulation, and treatment of clients across various care settings.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
    Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide staff members to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
    Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, including prioritizing tasks and managing competing demands.
    Commitment to ongoing professional development, with a willingness to learn and apply new skills and knowledge in a rapidly evolving environment.
