Job Title: Specialist Officer

At Carrington Blake Recruitment, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialist Officer to join our team. As a Specialist Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting deaf and deafblind citizens to maintain and develop their independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct specialist assessments to identify the needs and outcomes of deaf and deafblind citizens, ensuring compliance with the Care Act 2014.
  2. Work collaboratively with citizens to develop and implement holistic care plans, focusing on independent living skills and community involvement.
  3. Provide support and guidance on accessing resources and services, including assistive technologies and environmental aids.
  4. Monitor and review care packages to ensure the best possible outcomes for citizens.
  5. Develop and maintain relationships with providers and other agencies to ensure seamless service delivery.
  6. Identify and address safeguarding and quality of care issues, ensuring the protection of vulnerable adults.
  7. Conduct capacity risk assessments to support citizens in making informed decisions about their care.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of the Care Act 2014 and its implications for deaf and deafblind citizens.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies and environmental aids.
  • Experience working with vulnerable adults.
