Job Summary

North West London Pathology is a leading provider of diagnostic services, and we are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Biomedical Scientist Trainee to join our Electron Microscopy Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic services to patients and healthcare professionals.

Main Responsibilities

As a Biomedical Scientist Trainee, you will be responsible for:

  • Receiving and processing specimens, including data entry onto our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
  • Preparing and sectioning tissue samples for ultrastructural examination
  • Archiving slides, blocks, and reports, and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of quality control procedures

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A 2nd class Honours Degree in a biological science, acceptable by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Methodical and organized approach to work
  • Ability to work with biological materials and equipment
