Senior Residential Childcare Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join our team at Spark of Genius, a leading provider of residential childcare services in Scotland.
As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to young people with complex needs, working closely with our dedicated team to ensure their physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
Key Responsibilities- Provide supervisory and mentoring support to Residential Childcare Workers, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver excellent care.
- Take responsibility for practice development, including allocated supervision and performance management of staff.
- Ensure the care team has the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to care for children and young people effectively.
- Support on-call arrangements as a Senior Member of the team.
- Assist with management tasks, including finance, fleet, environment, and Health and Safety, staffing matters, and training and development.
- Contribute to assessment and care plan arrangements, participating in reviews and other meetings as necessary.
- Ensure both local authority and internal care plans are in place and that staff fully understand their role.
- Deputise in the absence of the management team, where necessary.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Residential Childcare Worker.
- High standard of reporting and recording.
- Experience of working in a mentoring role.
- Wide knowledge of the behaviours displayed by children and young people and an understanding of intervention strategies.
- Working knowledge of legislation in relation to childcare, including National Care Standards and Child Protection.
- An understanding of child development and the ability to apply systems and processes within residential homes that are compliant with national care standards.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- An ability to assist in on-call arrangements to meet business needs.
