Care Manager

Job Summary
The Care Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to residents in various settings, including care homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. This position involves managing a team of caregivers, ensuring compliance with care standards, and providing support to both staff and residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills.
Duties
- Supervise and manage the daily operations of the care facility, ensuring that all residents receive appropriate care tailored to their individual needs.
- Develop and implement care plans for residents, particularly those requiring dementia care or specialised assistance.
- Coordinate medication administration and ensure adherence to safety protocols regarding medication management.
- Lead and mentor a team of caregivers, fostering a supportive environment that encourages professional development.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident health and wellbeing, adjusting care plans as necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care activities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to promote holistic resident care.
Skills
- Proven experience in senior care settings such as home care, assisted living, or nursing homes.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
- Knowledge of dementia care practices and the ability to provide compassionate support to residents with cognitive impairments.
- Proficient in medication administration protocols and best practices in caregiving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of care delivery.
