The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a skilled Laboratory Technician to support laboratory operations in Cambridge, UK. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining laboratory consumable inventory, managing biological and chemical waste, and performing routine decontamination tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance of laboratory consumable inventory, identifying alternative products to roll out in the event of supply issues and daily consumable replenishment, utilising site inventory system
  • Biological & chemical waste management
  • Receipt and unpacking of cell and biological samples deliveries, including temperature sensitive and materials with special handling/storage requirements
  • Routine decontamination of incubators, water baths, class II cabinets and other equipment on site
  • Management of pipette inventory and organisation of calibration schedules

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent) and an interest in science
  • Full training will be given, previous experience in pharmaceutical/food manufacturing environment desirable but not essential
  • Ability to understand and follow Health & Safety instructions
  • Computer Literate
  • Process driven and high level of attention to details
