We are pleased to be supporting our offshore wind developer client with the appointment of an Electrical Systems Engineer. This represents an excellent opportunity for a Degree qualified Electrical Engineer with grid experience to join an entrepreneurial company and further develop their career.

Our team is responsible for electrical power systems lead for the electrical system modelling design, applying the UK grid code to the power system design, managing specification writing and consultancy work scopes with associated delivery review for power system study requirements for the offshore windfarm to grid connection, and supporting the development of Engineering tender requirements for electrical equipment.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Lead electrical power systems design for the electrical system modelling
  • Apply UK grid code standards to power system design
  • Manage specifications and consultancy work scopes for power system studies
  • Support engineering tender requirements for electrical equipment
  • Collaborate with electrical cable, plant and wind farm engineers, as well as electrical protection and control system engineers during design stages

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Masters in Electrical Engineering or similar degree experience
  • Experienced power systems engineer modelling both wind turbine generator and transmission systems
  • Understanding and application of the GB grid code and modelling standards for connection of offshore generators to the GB grid
  • Experience with software tools for static and dynamic studies for generation systems connecting to the GB grid

Estimated Salary: Up to £75,000 dependent on experience + Bonus of up to 20%
