About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team at Spirax-Sarco Engineering. As a key member of our procurement function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise manual purchase orders for both direct and indirect goods, including stock items, fittings, consumables, and maintenance parts.
  • Negotiate the best price and lead times from suppliers.
  • Identify and lead opportunities for innovation, cost savings, waste reduction, and continuous improvement.
  • Reduce the number of day-to-day requisitions and utilize the stock system.
  • Manage and set up contracts.
  • Obtain quotes for requesting departments and update stock cards.
  • Complete the daily low stock sheet.
  • Quarterly usage check on export orders to maintain the correct quantity.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate ordering, lead times, and delivery schedules.
  • Rationalize category management for a large number of suppliers.
  • Process supplier non-conformances.
  • Update cost savings and increases.

Requirements:

  • CIPS/IoSCM certification would be beneficial.
  • Experience with contracting and technical knowledge in a buying role.
  • Manufacturing and engineering buying experience.
  • Experience implementing change.
  • Knowledge of raw materials such as steel, PTFE, EPDM, and SILIUN would be beneficial.
  • Ability to effectively use computer and communication technology, including Microsoft Office, Teams, and Excel.
  • Strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated and capable of decision-making.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Driven and enjoys the challenge of change.
